We rarely make a review of an electric toothbrush that isn’t produced by Oral B or Sonicare. But it seems that there are plenty new toothbrushes that are worth having a review hitting the market in the recent months.
It’s been a long time since we made our last electric toothbrush review. The main reason for that is there’s not many new toothbrushes on the market that are worth mentioning. Sonicare and Oral B are still dominating the market, but there’s a new electric toothbrush that could give them both a run for the money. Check out our Foreo ISSA review and decide for yourself.
- Sonic Pulse technology
- Several designs to chose from
- Unique hygienic silicone design
- Silicone bristles
- 1-year usage on a single battery charge
- Brush head lasts for 1 year
- 2-year limited warranty
- 10-year quality guarantee
The Foreo ISSA offers quite a lot of unique features that have never been seen before. The toothbrush features a silicone design and it looks nothing like “traditional” electric toothbrushes from either Oral B or Sonicare.
The most interesting feature that Foreo ISSA brings to the table is rubbery silicone nubs instead of traditional nylon bristles. The idea is that the combination silicone and PBT polymer brush is stronger on plaque than brushing with traditional bristles while it’s still gentle on your gums.
The second surprise is the battery life. The leading powered toothbrushes from Philips and Braun offer about 2 weeks of use with a single charge. We still don’t know how Foreo makes it possible, but you can use the ISSA toothbrush for up to 365 days with a single charge. Charge it on January the second and it will last until the next year!
The top rated electric toothbrush on our website (Sonicare DiamondClean) comes with 5 different cleaning modes. Its closest rival Oral B 7000 comes with 6. The Foreo ISSA however comes with 8 different intensities to choose from.
Despite the fact that Foreo ISSA is right up there with the best electric toothbrushes in the world when we’re talking about the price, it can be cheaper on the long run. The reason for this is the fact that the silicone bristles last up to 1 year without having to be replaced (compared to 2-3 months with the standard nylon bristles).

We will examine it a little bit more and I’m sure we will place it somewhere at the top of our favorite powered toothbrushes. And that’s a statement that really says a lot about the amount of highly advanced features and quality of the ISSA toothbrush.
